Welcome to Café Caribe, the boutique roastery that reflects perfectly on the beautiful suburb of Brooklyn. Located at the village’s heart on Cleveland Street, the freshly roasted aromas spellbind the locals and send them pleasantly on their way, off into the day.
Striking gold at the 2010-11 New Zealand Coffee Awards, owners and operators Zach and Naomi Widener are not only honoured of the non-pressurised Plunger praise, but could not be more proud. Zach welcomes you to view him in action behind the roaster in the small, yet efficient Roaster Room built by the couple.
This slice of the Caribbean is not only a house for the thirsty; with freshly baked local artisan breads available on the weekends, sweets and treats, and in-store tastings of their complete West Indies Spice Traders range of Jamaican Jerk Seasonings and Hot Sauces,there are tasty treats for all.
Of course this roastery would not be complete without freshly packaged bags of coffee beans for sale, which the lovely staff will grind on the spot if you so desire. Wholesale customers are welcome to come in for a chat or Zach will come to see you.
